Fall Solar Outages

As we move into the fall season, you may notice brief interruptions on some TV channels due to solar outages.
Solar outages are a natural occurrence that happens when the sun aligns directly behind the satellites that deliver programming to TV providers. This temporary interference can occasionally affect satellite-fed channel feeds during peak sun hours.
What you need to know:
• Outages typically last only 5-7 minutes
• They usually occur during peak sun hours
• Service returns automatically once the interference passes
• These seasonal outages are temporary and expected
If you experience a brief loss of signal, don’t worry; it’s most likely a solar outage, and your channels should return shortly. These are expected to occur October 7th-11th, 2026.
