This issue has been resolved.
We’re currently investigating an issue affecting some inbound phone calls. Some customers, primarily in South Dakota, may experience problems when calling certain phone numbers on our network, including both Hosted Voice and traditional phone services. In some cases, callers may hear dead air or be unable to complete their call.
Our technicians are actively working to identify the cause and restore normal service as quickly as possible. We’ll provide updates as soon as we have more information.

Service Update: July 14, 12:42 p.m.
We have received additional information from our network partners regarding the phone calling issues affecting some customers.
At this time, the issue has been traced to upstream carrier networks outside of Alliance Communications’ network.
- Customers calling from AT&T Wireless, or other wireless providers that use the AT&T network, may experience problems reaching some Alliance phone numbers.
- Our network partner has also identified a separate routing issue involving another carrier that is affecting some inbound calls.
These carriers are actively working together to resolve the issue. Because the problem is outside of Alliance’s network, restoration may take longer than we initially anticipated.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. We’ll continue to provide updates as we receive more information.
