From time to time, Alliance adjusts our Internet speed packages to ensure we’re providing you with the bandwidth you need now and years into the future. Over the next few months, we will be transitioning customers to higher Internet speeds for no additional charge.

To maximize your new speed, you'll want to make sure your equipment can keep up. Just like computers and cell phones, wireless routers should be updated about every three years. The tips below will help you decide if you need a new router.

DO YOU NEED A NEW ROUTER?

Yes, you need a new router.
• Your router uses A, B, G or N wireless standards. (They can’t process faster speeds.)
• You don’t like installing software updates to your router.

Probably not
• You have a new AC or AX router that’s less than 2-3 years old.
• The uplink/internet port can support speeds of at least 250 Mbps.
• You’re capable of installing router software updates by yourself.

What kind of router do you need to support faster Internet speeds?
