The Crooks Community Childcare Center received funds from Alliance’s Keep the Change program that it will use to purchase new computers. The center is a not-for-profit community daycare that seeks financial support from outside sources in order to keep rates affordable for parents.

Fiber cut between Lester and Alvord

Update 3:45 p.m.: All services have been restored. If your services haven’t returned, please call our office by dialing 611 from any phone with Alliance service or (605) 582-6311 from your cell phone.

Update 2:15 p.m.: The fiber-optic cable was damaged extensively. It will take technicians several hours to repair it and restore service.

Original post: Our technicians are looking into an Internet outage due to a possible fiber cut between Lester and Alvord. Customers may lose their connections while the Internet traffic is sent to a different route. We’re working to restore services as quickly as possible.

How to restore your Alliance services following a power outage

If a power outage disrupts your Alliance services, your phone, Internet and cable services should return automatically once electricity is restored. But if they don’t, you should unplug your set-top boxes, DVRs, and routers, wait for a few minutes, and then plug them back in. 

But if they don’t, unplug your router, set-top boxes and DVRs and then plug them back in. Additional troubleshooting tips are available in the videos within this blog post. Don’t forget, you also can call 582-6311 for 24/7 support.

Lester uses Keep the Change funds to construct trails

Lester Visioning Inc., is using funds it received from Alliance’s Keep the Change program to construct trails in the community. The project is currently in the first of five phases. The first phase created a trail that connects community buildings and the city park.
